Day 1: Nairobi – chogoria town-bairongi camp chogoria route to chogoria banda’s camp
7km walk: elevation 350m
Leave Nairobi at 7 and drive to chogoria town,mountkenya east side.after lunch drive to chogoria forest gate 2600m elevation, starting the hikes through the chogoria forest gate.this is unique experience,the hikers has the ability to adapt the altitude hence have good acclimatisation,the hikers is able to learn,about tea and coffee growing fields and therefore is able to take the best photo view of the kenya’s largest cash crop farming for export.the hikes between the chogoria forest and banda’s camp has very good view.overnight sleep at banda’s camp

Day 2:Chogoria banda’s camp- nithi water falls-lake ellis camp.
Elevation 650m 9km distance
After breakfast at chogoria banda’s camp or meru mountkenya banda’s camp walk through the indigenous high altitude forest ,the forest is covered with trees like meru oak,hagenia trees and a canopied bamboo bushes,which is the food for monkeys and elephants.this walk is 9km.animals within are bufalloes,elephants,antelopes,water bucks and species of birds.
Chogoria route side has the best scenic views like the largest water fall in mtkenya know as nithi water falls.gorges valley and the second biggest lake ellis.animals walk around the lake which makes it a wildlife free area.the cool breeze around the lake makes the route more popular.having lunch,dinner and breakfast at the lake is more advantageous.

Day 3:Lake ellis camp to mintos camp
Hiking distance 13km: elevation 600m.

The hikers follow the hidden trail,beside walking on the normal trail,this avoid the large touristic groups, ascending and descending down,the trail is different from the others in mtkenya region,a glimpse view of mountkenya,on that side is the lake alice,the gorge valley,mugi hills, and the lake michaelson.
The rocks formation are in different nature,they resembles the curved statues in the old stonage, praying goddesses,you may think they are sculptures.this walk is gentle,and need a slow pace to avoid the altitude sickness,hikers are advices to drink more water.overnight is at Mintos camp

Day 4:Mintos camp – point lenana summit- shiptons camp:780m 4km
The summit day of mountkenya point lenana,the hike starts during midnight to be able to meet the sunrise, walking with your lights on, beautiful stars,asteroids, are seen.one is adviced to wear warm clothing,and good hiking boots with firm grips.the sun rises at 6:30 am normally,the clear view of the sorounding peaks of mtkenya are seen,mount kilimanjaro on the south,aberdare ranges and the town’s around mtkenya region,the pictureques valleys of mtkenya namely tereki valley,gorges valley and mackinders valley.the high glaciers and snows of mtkenya.for.more information you can read a book facing mtkenya.after the good time in mtkenya peak,descend down to Shiptons camp for full breakfast and relaxing after the summit.one may decide to walk around to the hausberg tarns.lunch dinner and Overnight at Shiptons camp

Day 5:Shiptons camp-oldmoses camp
13km walk and 950m elevation

After a successful hiking summit to the third african peak of mtkenya,walk down through the mackinders valley,it’s a trail walk,with it’s beauty,floras and faunas.some of the flowers are giant lobellia,water Lilly lobellia, lobellia deckenii,birds around mtkenya are small weaver birds,mountain eagles,the trail may take from 5 to 6 hours to reach the judimaire camp.

Day 6:Oldmoses camp to nairobi 9km 350m
The oldmoses camp was built by a mountaineer judimaire,he was the first mountkenya rock climber,but due to bad weather he got an accident,but survived while attempting to climb batian peak, that’s the named judimaire camp was named after him.the oldmoses camp is at the sirimon route of mtkenya,with the closest town being nanyuki town.the walk takes 3 hours to the sirimon gate at 2650m.
