Arusha

Arusha is northern Tanzania's safari capital and the gateway city for Kilimanjaro climbs, Serengeti safaris, and the entire northern circuit. Sitting at 1,400 metres on the slopes of Mount Meru, the city enjoys a pleasant year-round climate. Arusha offers vibrant markets, cultural experiences with local Maasai and Meru communities, and the nearby Arusha National Park with its colobus monkeys and views of Mount Meru. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is 46 kilometres east of the city.
