Overview

The Rongai Route is the only path that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, near the Kenya border, offering a distinctly different perspective of the mountain. Its gentle, steady gradient makes it the most suitable route for less experienced trekkers, while the quiet, wilderness-rich northern slopes provide a more secluded experience with excellent chances of spotting wildlife. The 7-day itinerary includes an acclimatization day at Mawenzi Tarn with dramatic views of Mawenzi Peak.
