Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart Arusha for the scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Natron. After lunch, hike to the Ngare Sero waterfalls through a stunning gorge with optional swimming in natural pools. In the late afternoon, walk to the lake shore to observe the vast flamingo colonies that breed in these alkaline waters. Camp with views of Ol Doinyo Lengai.
Activities
Depart camp at midnight for the steep volcanic ascent. Climb by headtorch through ash and scree for 5-6 hours to reach the 2,962m summit at sunrise. Marvel at panoramic views of the Rift Valley, Lake Natron's red waters, and distant Kilimanjaro. Explore the active crater. Descend in 3 hours, brunch at camp, then spend the afternoon resting or exploring the lake area.

After breakfast, visit a traditional Maasai boma in Ngare Sero village. Learn about Maasai culture, traditions, beadwork, and daily life from community members. A meaningful cultural exchange that benefits the local community directly. Depart for Arusha, arriving by late afternoon.
