About Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is famous for its massive elephant herds -- among the largest in Tanzania -- and its striking landscape of ancient baobab trees and sweeping savannah. Covering 2,850 square kilometres along the Tarangire River, the park offers outstanding dry-season game viewing as thousands of animals congregate around the river. Over 550 bird species make it a premier birding destination. The park is less crowded than the Serengeti, providing an intimate and authentic safari experience.
