Mount longonot is the closest mountain from Nairobi,and 2 hours drive distance to the longonot park gate,normally takes 6 hours hike(crater ring) when you start from the base and back.Its a relaxation adventure and longonot highest point is 2776 meters,which has a hiking distance of 9 km around the ring with panoramic views.The best time to visit is very early in the morning from 6:00 so that you can beat the heat and crowdy hikers,after the hike you can opt to go to lake Naivasha for the boat ride.
Key Attractions: Walking around the crater rim, viewing Lake Naivasha, and spotting wildlife like giraffes and zebras.

Itinerary: -6:00Hrs:Pick up and Drive from Nairobi to mt longonoto. -6:30 : Stop and view the great rift valley view point which was formed 5 million years ago and runs from the red sea to Kenya,Ethiopia and Tanzania,it has some of the most interesting features including lakes, dormant and active volcano mountains, active hot springs and geysers at the olkalia geothermal wells and lake bogoria geysers 7:30 : Arrive at mount longonot National park,Sign and start the hike which is easy on the base part but strenuous when you get to the rim of the crater, but breaks stops are recommended 12:00pm : Descend down to the mount longonot gate 1:00pm : You can decide to go back to Nairobi or have a boat ride for 1 hour in lake Naivasha
