Day-by-Day Itinerary

Depart Nairobi at 08:00 and drive to Naro Moru town (approx. 3 hours). After lunch, we head to the Naro Moru Park Gate, where we register and begin the ascent. The route climbs steeply through the forest and into the 'vertical bog' section, which can be muddy and challenging. We reach Met Station (3,050 m) after about 3-4 hours. Overnight at Met Station (bandas or camping).

Met Station (3,050 m)

Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, we continue the ascent through the Teleki Valley, passing the dramatic 'vertical bog' section and crossing several streams. The trail opens up into alpine moorland with stunning views of the main peaks. We reach Mackinder's Camp (4,200 m) by early afternoon (approx. 5-6 hours). After lunch, we rest and acclimatize. Your guide will conduct an altitude check and provide a summit briefing for the next day. Overnight at Mackinder's Camp.

Mackinder's Camp (4,200 m)

Breakfast, Lunch (packed), Dinner

Wake at 02:00 for tea and biscuits. We depart Mackinder's Camp at 02:30, following the steep ridge toward Point Lenana. The ascent is on scree and rock, requiring good fitness and determination. We reach the summit just before sunrise (approx. 06:00). After celebrating and taking photos, we descend back to Mackinder's Camp for a full breakfast, then continue down to Met Station and finally to Naro Moru Gate. We drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the evening. Summit certificates are presented en route.
