8 Days mountkenya trekking and samburu wildlife reserve

Day:1- Pick up from jomo Kenya airport to your Nairobi hotel or transfer to chogoria town the base hotel or snow peak hotel chogoria town for an overnight

Depart from Nairobi by 9:00 a.m. and headed for Chogoria agricultural slopy area of mountkenya,where you will meet with your mountain crew, your guide, porters, and cook at Chogoria routea.After lunch, there will be a short briefing and some checking for your luggage, Drive for 20km to chogoria forest and walk the rest of remaining kilometers for aclimatization to Chogoria Bandas,through forest and bamboo zone. You will reach the Bandas by 5:00 p.m. Driving distance: 180 kilometers Traveling time: Three hours Walk distance and walk time: 7 kilometers / 1 hours Altitude change: 2750 meters to 3000 meters (ascend 250 meters) Vegetation: forest and bamboo zone

Leave the chogoria bandas camp trek through the bamboo zone, presenting a shaded canopy with magnificent stands of East African Rosewood (Hagenia abbysinica) - massive trees that are centuries old with broad trunks and a spreading umbrella shaped crown to the main track and trek to the road end where you will rest and pitch the tents for an overnight

The trek from Road Head to Mintos Camp (Mintos Sceneries) on the Chogoria Route of Mount Kenya is a stunning, high-altitude hike. Spanning about 12 km, the journey takes roughly 4 to 6 hours, winding from an altitude of around 3,350 meters up to 4,200 meters,the geographical sceneries in this altitude are:Mugi Hill,Giant's Billiards Table,Lake Michaelson,Gorges Valley and the central peaks of Mount Kenya (Batian, Nelion, and Point Lenana)

A pre-dawn attempt of the summit will start at 3:00 a.m. and you will hike for about three hours up to Point Lenana - 4985 meters. It is planned that you arrive at the hiker's summit in time to witness the African sunrise as it reflects its golden glow on the majestic peaks of Batian and Nelion over the equator. On a clear day, you can see the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro miles away to the south. After celebrating the achievement, you will then descend to Shipton's camp for breakfast,and after start the descent trek with fascinating scenery which includes the moorlands, Heather and Rosewood zones to Old Moses camp for dinner and overnight.

The hike between Old Moses Camp (3,300 meters) and Sirimon Gate (2,650 meters) on Mount Kenya covers approximately 9 km and takes 3 to 4 hours. The trail offers a stunning, transitional journey through the mountain’s diverse ecosystems, providing a mix of lush forests and dramatic moorland views. At Sirimon gate, you connect the vehicle and drive on to Samburu. Samburu Game Reserve is a semi-arid ecosystem which teams with a host of wildlife endemic to the northern part of Kenya chief among them being the reticulated giraffe, the gravy zebra, the oryx, the Somali ostrich, and the gazelle with the longest neck called the gerenuk, the vulturine guinea fowl among others. Apart from the above species, elephants, buffaloes, gazelles, crocodiles, impalas, and dik-diks are seen in plenty as well as the elusive lions, cheetahs, and leopard. Upon arrival, you proceed to a game lodge inside the park for a quick shower before the evening game drive. Return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Morning and evening game drive in the park where your expert guides and drivers that will take you to different locations of the Samburu and the nearby Buffalo Springs Reserves where you will have spectacular chances of spotting wildlife. You break off during the mid-day heat for a swim at the lodge. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at a Safari lodge or camp inside the park.

You will have early morning game drive then depart after breakfast headed for Nairobi. You will stop for lunch at a Restaurant in Nanyuki. The restaurant has a cool atmosphere after a hot journey from Samburu.. Simply cooked, and served with plenty of bread, and fresh vegetables. After the lunch break, you proceed on to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped at hotel or Nairobi airport to connect with your flight back home
